The National Recording Studios, ACT, and Skyworks Studios commissioned puppets for tumblegum.com in 1999. It was pilot episode of a children's TV drama and documentary program, filmed locally in the ACT.

The trigger mechanism to go inside the head of Spike the goanna to operate his mouth. The head is carved foam.

On location at Googang Dam, just east of Canberra.
Spike is about 2 metres long, and needs two or
three puppeteers to operate him.
