I think there might be various freecycle groups around, the cultures must vary. The one here seems to have auto reminders of etiquette to the boards, but that’s about all. But yes, that would be a real turn-off!

I have never successfully posted anything without getting a scolding email about how I have made usually many mistakes. And, I was relieved to discover it wasn’t just me- on our local email list, many people had the same experience. Luckily I have other options for getting rid of treasures, like Craigslist or the aforementioned local list. My favorite was when I posted the 50 hats that I’d brought home while clearing out my parents house. The hats were all piled on a bed and the kid was coming home for vacation. Someone claimed them in 10 minutes!
