Apart from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.patriciapiccinini.net\/\">her own site<\/a>, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.roslynoxley9.com.au\/index.php3\">Roslyn Oxley9 Gallery<\/a> has the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.roslynoxley9.com.au\/artists\/?aid=31&amp;profile=1\">best collection of Piccinini&#8217;s work<\/a> online.<\/p>\n<p>Her exhibitions reflect a variety of interests and styles, but I am particularly taken by her sculptures that explore possible outcomes of genetic engineering and technology on humankind. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.roslynoxley9.com.au\/artists\/?aid=31&amp;eid=249\">We Are Family: 2003 Venice Biennale<\/a> is absolutely intreguing and challenging.  Take for example <a href=\"http:\/\/www.roslynoxley9.com.au\/images\/PiccininiVeniceBien_2003\/001.jpg\">The Young Family<\/a>, the prematurely aging <a href=\"http:\/\/www.roslynoxley9.com.au\/images\/PiccininiVeniceBien_2003\/018.jpg\">Game Boys Advanced<\/a> or the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.roslynoxley9.com.au\/images\/PiccininiVeniceBien_2003\/008.jpg\">Meerman<\/a> from Leather Landscape. As with Ron Mueck&#8217;s sculptures, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.roslynoxley9.com.au\/images\/PiccininiVeniceBien_2003\/006.jpg\">realism and detail <\/a>achieved is remarkable.<\/p>\n<p><u>Update<\/u>:  Sam Jinks is the sculptor\/maker who has worked with Piccinini on many of her works.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ron Mueck&#8217;s sculpture has reminded me of the Melbourne artist Patricia Piccinini.
