The Hobbit (1997)
Company Skylark, ACT
This production, in association with Anketell Theatrical productions, involved the largest puppet build undertaken in Australia. I was one of the team of 10 makers who spent 3 months making over 75 puppets and props under the direction and care of the Puppet Designer and Head Puppet Maker, Philip Millar, and the Head of Workshop, Al Martinez. In particular, I sculpted and made some of the moulds for the casting of latex heads, hands and feet; carved the head of one the 8-foot trolls, and made troll hands, boots and bodies; and made the armatures and bodies of the dwarves.
'The Hobbit' toured Australia in a return season in 2000.

Twinkle Twinkle Little Fish (1998)
QPAC, Queensland
Based on the picture books of Eric Carle, such as 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar' this production called for a large cast of puppet animals and insects, which were designed by Richard Jeziorny. I carved my way through about as many as the caterpillar nibbled through: 2 apples, a banana, an octopus, an articulated frog and grasshopper, 6 caterpillars, 2 cocoons, and a butterfly.
South Australia's Windmill Performing Arts Company presented another Australian season of 'Twinkle Twinkle Little Fish' in 2002, and then took the production to Broadway in February 2003, for a New York season at the New Victory Theatre.
